Meraki Talent is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing Scottish business in the appointment of a Senior Accountant in Edinburgh on a permanent basis, paying up to £60k.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position offers a broad and varied remit with significant exposure to senior leadership and operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Production and review of monthly management accounts across a multi-entity portfolio
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities
• Variance analysis and provision of meaningful business performance insights
• Supporting year-end processes and external audit requirements
• VAT returns and associated compliance responsibilities
• Business partnering with stakeholders across multiple sites and departments
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting and processes
• Supervising, mentoring and developing a team of finance professionals
• Supporting ad-hoc commercial and finance improvement projects

Candidate Profile

• Qualified ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or QBE
• Management accounting experience within a fast-paced commercial environment
• Experience managing multiple entities, locations or operational business units
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Prior team leadership, mentoring or supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Candidates making their first move from practice will also be considered
