Inspiring Scotland

Livingston James is delighted to be partnering with Inspiring Scotland to appoint Trustees to its Board as the organisation embarks on an exciting new chapter.

Since 2008, Inspiring Scotland has worked towards a Scotland where everyone, no matter where they live or the circumstances they are born into, is given the chance to enjoy a happy, healthy life free from poverty or disadvantage.

Working at the intersection of the public, private and third sectors, Inspiring Scotland addresses some of Scotland's most pressing social challenges through innovative funding programmes, philanthropy advisory services and strategic partnerships. In 2024/25 alone, the organisation managed £47.5 million of funding across 16 programmes, supporting 333 organisations and reaching more than 190,000 people across Scotland.

As Inspiring Scotland launches its next five-year strategy, the organisation is seeking exceptional individuals to join its Board and help shape the future direction of one of Scotland's most influential social impact organisations.

This is an opportunity to contribute far more than governance. Trustees will play an important role in supporting and challenging the Executive Team, helping to unlock new opportunities, strengthen strategic relationships and maximise the organisation's impact across Scotland's communities.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who bring senior experience in fundraising, philanthropy, investment or capital raising; private-sector executive leadership; or public-sector, civil service and policy leadership.

Successful candidates will bring strategic insight, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to creating positive social change. They will be well connected, comfortable operating at Board level and motivated by the opportunity to use their experience, influence and networks to help create meaningful and lasting impact.

Whilst previous Board experience would be welcomed, it is not essential. We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring reach, relationships and influence, helping Inspiring Scotland attract new partners, secure new opportunities and continue to expand its impact across Scotland.

This represents a unique opportunity to join a highly respected organisation with a proven track record of delivering measurable social impact and to play a meaningful role in shaping a fairer, healthier and more resilient Scotland.
