Sales Manager – Engineered Capital Equipment | EMEA

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000+ Basic (Negotiable) + Commission + Benefits
Location: Home-Based, UK | EMEA Territory
Travel: Approx. 30% International Travel

Are you an experienced Sales Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, or Business Development Manager with a strong track record in selling high-value engineered capital equipment?

SimWest Engineering Recruitment is recruiting a Sales Manager for an established international engineering group, taking responsibility for new business development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

With typical projects worth £300K–£1M, this is a consultative technical sales role involving complex engineering solutions, longer sales cycles and the opportunity to develop new customers across international markets.

The Role

As Sales Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• New Business Development: Identifying prospective manufacturing customers and developing new sales opportunities across EMEA.
• Technical Sales: Understanding customer applications and working with engineering teams to develop suitable capital equipment solutions.
• Account Development: Building relationships with engineering, production, operations and senior management teams.
• Sales Cycle Management: Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through technical proposals, negotiation and order placement.
• Pipeline Management: Developing and managing your own sales pipeline, forecasts and territory opportunities.
• International Travel: Visiting customers, attending exhibitions and developing relationships across the EMEA region.

About You

We welcome applications from experienced Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Technical Sales Managers, International Sales Managers, Export Sales Managers and Business Development Managers.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven experience selling high-value engineered capital equipment or complex industrial machinery.
• A strong background in new business development and consultative technical sales.
• Experience managing longer sales cycles involving substantial capital investment.
• Confidence engaging with engineering, production and senior management teams.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to manage an international territory independently.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Experience selling machinery into food manufacturing, food processing or other process-led manufacturing industries would be particularly relevant, but not essential. Candidates from other capital equipment sectors will also be considered.
