The Organisation

Join a customer-focused organisation with a busy finance function and a strong focus on accurate, compliant payment processing. You will work across Finance, Customer Service and Change teams to support reliable customer outcomes.

  • Build effective relationships with banks and merchant service providers.
  • Support accurate daily cash flow reporting for senior leaders and the Board.
  • Promote compliance with BACS, data protection and information security requirements.
  • Help improve payment methods and automate cash allocation processes.

The Role

As Cash Team Manager, you will oversee daily banking, customer receipts and Direct Debit activity. You will lead four Cash Assistants and take ownership of bank reconciliations, work allocation and service performance.

  • Manage bank reconciliations and cash balances for month-end reporting.
  • Oversee Direct Debit collections and maintain compliance with BACS guidance.
  • Lead accurate allocation of customer receipts and reduce unallocated balances.

Mandatory

  • Lead and develop a team in a high-volume operational environment.
  • Manage large transaction volumes, bank reconciliations and cash-related processes.
  • Allocate work effectively and reduce backlogs to business-as-usual levels.
  • Use finance systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel, with a high degree of accuracy.

Preferred

  • Bring experience in accounts payable, finance reconciliations or customer payments.
  • Use Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate or SharePoint.
  • Support year-end audit activity and process automation.

This role offers the chance to shape a key cash function while developing people, processes and customer service. The salary is £45,000 to £50,000, with the opportunity to make a visible contribution across the wider business.

  • Influence improvements across banking, payments and cash allocation.
  • Develop a team through coaching, delegation and shared ownership.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Customer Service and Change colleagues.
  • Apply your skills in a role where accuracy, compliance and positive change matter.
