We are recruiting an experienced Site Manager to oversee a commercial office refurbishment in central Edinburgh.
The project covers two office floors, delivered in separate phases. The working floors will be vacant, while the remainder of the building remains occupied.
This role requires someone who can take ownership of site operations, coordinate subcontractors and maintain a professional relationship with the client and building occupants.
The works
The refurbishment includes strip out, partitions and glazing, ceilings, flooring, decorations and tea points. There are substantial mechanical and electrical alterations, including new air handling equipment, followed by testing, commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily site activities on behalf of the principal contractor.
• Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, access and the sequence of works.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical packages alongside the fit out trades.
• Manage inductions, RAMS, permits to work and site safety.
• Plan noisy and disruptive works around agreed building restrictions.
• Liaise with the client, landlord representatives and building occupants.
• Maintain accurate site records and provide regular progress reports.
• Oversee quality control, snagging and handover.
Requirements
• At least five years’ relevant site management experience.
• Commercial refurbishment experience, including CAT A and CAT B office fit outs.
• Experience coordinating mechanical and electrical contractors.
• Previous experience working within occupied buildings.
• Valid SMSTS, First Aid at Work and CSCS card.
• Black CSCS card and NVQ Level 6 preferred.
• A carpentry or other trade background would be advantageous.
• Strong IT, reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to commute to central Edinburgh and commit to the programme.
Equipment
You will need your own laptop, mobile phone and access to a printer on site. The contractor’s head office is based away from the project, so you must be comfortable managing documentation, printing drawings and permits, and communicating with the wider management team remotely.
Teams interviews are planned for Wednesday 4th November.
Apply with your current CV and details of your relevant commercial office fit out experience.
