The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Development Executive to join the Business Development team of a highly regarded professional services firm in Edinburgh.

Working closely with senior Business Development colleagues, partners and key stakeholders, you will play an important role in turning the firm's strategic priorities into practical business development activity.

This is a broad, commercially focused role with real exposure to senior stakeholders. You will support several specialist practice and sector groups, helping to identify new opportunities, strengthen key client relationships and ultimately drive sustainable revenue growth.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with senior Business Development Managers to deliver strategic BD plans and initiatives.
• Partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and implement targeted business development strategies.
• Conducting market, sector, competitor and client research to identify commercial opportunities.
• Supporting client development initiatives, prospect identification, pitches, tenders and events.
• Helping senior stakeholders build and maintain their client networks and track ongoing BD activity.
• Developing strong internal relationships and becoming a trusted point of contact for business development support.
• Supporting the creation of high-quality BD and marketing materials.
• Maintaining credentials, testimonials, marketing collateral and other key BD information.
• Supporting the wider development of commercial and business development skills across the organisation.
• Leading or project managing wider Marketing and Business Development initiatives where appropriate.
• Contributing to the continued development of the wider Marketing and Business Development function.

About You We are looking for someone who can operate confidently with senior stakeholders while still being prepared to get involved in the day-to-day delivery of BD activity.

Ideally, you will bring:

• 5+ years' business development experience, ideally gained within legal or professional services.
• Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and advising on business development activity.
• A strong track record of delivering successful BD initiatives.
• The ability to build credibility and operate as a trusted commercial adviser.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong market, client and commercial research capabilities.
• Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong networking, relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Confidence working collaboratively across Business Development, Marketing and operational teams.
• Strong IT skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive, positive and commercially minded approach.
