We’re hiring: Production Support Engineer / Mission Control Operations Engineer

Hybrid: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home per week

We are looking for a technically skilled Production Support Engineer to join a global technology operations team within a leading FinTech company.

You will help maintain the availability and reliability of business-critical applications and infrastructure, investigate production issues, and improve operational processes through automation.

What you’ll do

• Monitor, support, and troubleshoot production applications, infrastructure, batch processing, and data transfer services.
• Respond to incidents, restore services, and collaborate with engineering teams on root cause analysis.
• Support production changes, application upgrades, and post-maintenance checks.
• Investigate system performance issues and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
• Develop scripts and automate recurring operational tasks.
• Use ServiceNow for incident and problem management.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Communicate clearly with global teams during incidents and service recovery.

What we’re looking for

• 3–5 years of experience in Production Support or a closely related technical operations role.
• A solid understanding of Linux administration and command-line troubleshooting.
• Experience with incident and problem management in production environments.
• Programming or scripting experience in at least one of the following: Python, Java, Perl, or Shell.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Systems administration experience.
• Exposure to Ansible, Chef, AWX, Cutover, Autosys, Kafka, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with operational automation, technical documentation, and project coordination.

Please note: The role may include rotational weekend shifts and requires attendance at the Edinburgh office four days per week.
