Senior Test Engineer

Edinburgh or Glasgow | Permanent | Hybrid – typically 1 day per week onsite

Up to £70K plus benefits

I'm supporting a leading organisation in the financial services sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Test Engineer to strengthen its technology and engineering capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in improving the quality, reliability and performance of business-critical platforms, working across strategic technology initiatives in a collaborative engineering environment.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and delivering robust functional testing across complex technology solutions.
• Identifying defects, performance bottlenecks and quality risks before they reach production.
• Developing and enhancing automated testing frameworks and tooling.
• Integrating automated testing into modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Working closely with engineers, product teams, stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
• Championing testing best practices and continuous improvement across delivery teams.

What we're looking for:

• Strong experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• Proven automation testing skills, including building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Experience working with modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience delivering testing across Agile and structured project environments.
• Ability to balance quality, risk and delivery commitments across complex initiatives.

Desirable experience:

• Financial services or insurance sector experience.
• Understanding of insurance platforms, including policy administration, claims, underwriting or customer servicing.
• API, integration and microservices testing within distributed architectures.
• Line management, coaching or mentoring within a technology or engineering team.
