Ecommerce Trading Manager - 12 month Maternity Cover - #2183700
KESTIN
Ecommerce Trading Manager (12-Month Maternity Cover)
The Role
KESTIN, a modern menswear brand designed and developed in Scotland, is looking for a commercially driven Ecommerce Trading Manager to take ownership of our online sales performance for a 12-month maternity cover. You’ll run trading day to day, make the calls on promotions, margin and spend, and keep the website performing for the whole of the cover period.
This is a hands-on role in a small team. You’ll directly line manage the Ecommerce Trading Executive, Digital Marketing Coordinator and Warehouse Assistant, work closely with our creative team, our paid media agency and our Head of Finance, and report directly to the directors of the business.
If you love turning data into measurable growth and want to make your mark on a growing Scottish brand, we’d like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Trading and Strategy
- Deliver the digital sales strategy and manage the budget, working towards revenue, margin and retention targets.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance of sales, traffic, conversion, AOV, margin and stock availability to inform and action trading decisions.
- Review performance and profitability by market to inform decisions on shipping, pricing and other levers that affect margin.
- Oversee Global-E pricing and compliance across our international markets.
- Plan and run online promotions in line with the trade and marketing calendars.
- Identify underperforming products and recommend actions across content, merchandising, promotion and marketing to improve sell-through.
- Oversee warehouse operations, led day to day by the Ecommerce Trading Executive and Warehouse Assistant, to meet delivery SLAs and provide a smooth delivery and returns experience, balancing delivery and returns costs against margin.
- Contribute to wider business planning and direction.
Website, UX and Customer Behaviour
- Own the ecommerce roadmap and testing, with a focus on mobile and desktop UX and conversion.
- Identify and deliver site optimisation opportunities across product pages, category navigation, landing pages, UX and onsite search.
- Analyse customer behaviour and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Direct site improvements with third-party developers.
Acquisition and Traffic
- Manage our paid media agency relationship, reviewing performance and planning spend together, and ensure GA4 tracking is accurate.
- Optimise customer acquisition cost and drive profitable traffic.
- Work with the marketing and creative team on planning campaigns and paid and organic social activity.
- Keep a topline view of organic traffic and its contribution to overall site traffic, directing the Digital Marketing Coordinator on the activity needed to grow it.
Stock and Range Input
- Use sales and sell-through data to guide stock, re-order and markdown decisions.
- Contribute ecommerce insight to seasonal range planning, alongside retail and wholesale.
- Share product-level insight with the business on best and worst performers through the online channel.
- Work with stakeholders, using data and commercial insight, to ensure product, stock and marketing decisions support trading performance.
