Design Quality Assurance Engineer | Edinburgh

Join a small, highly skilled team in Edinburgh where quality and design assurance sit at the heart of everything. You’ll work on next-generation certified products and support existing ones, ensuring engineering processes, documentation and development activities meet rigorous international standards and deliver the evidence required for certification.

This is a role with real influence. You’ll operate across software, hardware and mechanical disciplines throughout the product lifecycle, reviewing processes and work products, coordinating certification evidence with external regulators, and driving continuous improvement. You’re not a small part of a big machine — your judgement, attention to detail and ability to connect the dots will directly shape how the team delivers high-integrity products.

What you’ll bring

  • A STEM-based degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven background in quality assurance and/or engineering within an organisation that runs robust product lifecycleprocesses
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to manage complex detail and work effectivelyacross a multidisciplinary team

Advantageous

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Prior work with external regulators or quality management system auditors

You’ll thrive in an environment that values

  • Rigorous review of processes, procedures and work products against certification and quality requirements
  • Cross-discipline collaboration throughout the product lifecycle
  • Clear coordination of evidence to support product certification
  • Proactive support of engineering change and continuous process improvement

What you get in return A rewarding, high-trust environment, substantial ownership of quality and assurance outcomes, continuous learning on complex real-world challenges, and a clear opportunity to advance your career through visible impact rather than incremental tasks.

If you want your expertise to count and your influence to grow, this is the role.
