Title - Future of Work - Skills Specialist

The best business professionals are rarely conventional. So why contain yourself to a conventional career path? Are you interested in having a versatile career as part of an iconic, high-performing, constantly evolving company? This is an opportunity like no other.

We are a force for progress: powering, protecting, and connecting people everywhere. We’ve been at the forefront of innovation for more than a hundred years. Our engineering excellence is the power behind some of the most critical technologies used in the air, at sea, and on land. We are committed to developing people who are ready for the future—those who have the agility, behaviors, knowledge, and mindset to drive change, add value, and support transformation wherever the business requires.

We know that exceptional people are the driving force behind everything we do. We are looking for an agile individual who wants to be part of an exciting journey as we build the next chapter in becoming a skills-based organization. This role focuses on developing current and future capabilities that drive high performance, competitiveness, resilience, and growth. The individual will play a key role in Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) at an enterprise level, leveraging skills data and the Build | Buy | Borrow | Bot model to shape workforce agility.

Core Tasks:

Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP)

  • Help develop an enterprise-wide SWP approach to align workforce capabilities with organizational goals.

  • Partner with the business to establish a unified approach to forecasting skill needs and capability gaps.

  • Integrate skills-based insights into talent acquisition, development, and deployment processes via the Build | Buy | Borrow | Bot (BBBB) model.

Skills Data Management

  • Help build and maintain a comprehensive skills inventory and taxonomy.

  • Partner with business leads and tech teams to integrate skills data into enterprise workforce planning tools.

Skills Validation/Assessments

  • Help implement skills validation and assessment processes.

  • Develop relevant business reports.

  • Monitor and refine validation practices in an evolving business environment.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between HR, business units, and leadership to advocate for skills-based practices.

  • Provide data-driven insights and reporting to support strategic decisions.

  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to promote understanding of skills-based strategies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in SWP and skills data management.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and innovation in skills tracking and validation.

  • Drive a culture of continuous learning and skills development.

Your Skills:

  • Strong experience in Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) to make an immediate impact.

  • Solid understanding of skills-based organizations and their business impact.

  • Strong project management skills to keep initiatives on track.

  • Exposure to manufacturing and multi-company environments to navigate complexity effectively.

  • Comfortable working with data and using insights to drive decisions.

Your Power Skills:

  • Strong communication across all business levels.

  • Resilient and agile in a fast-paced environment.

  • Growth mindset and adaptability to ambiguity.
