Join our dedicated Pharmacy & Medicines team and play a key role in delivering high-quality services within Adult Mental Health in NHS Lothian. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist to contribute to provide services to adult in-patient mental health based at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
About The Role
The post holder will work as part of a team of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Key areas for patient focused care include provision of pharmaceutical care to vulnerable patients, medication history reviews, provision of a medicines information service, maintenance of a high-dose antipsychotic monitoring system, monitoring adherence to the Mental Health Act, patient/carer education.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking Clinical Pharmacist who wishes to contribute to our vision of improving mental health services for adults. The successful provision of this service relies on multidisciplinary working. The post holder will also have close links with other members of the pharmacy team across NHS Lothian.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Completion of or have equivalent competence mapped to the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework (for more please refer to our recruitment guide for mapping post-registration foundation programme equivalence)
- Experience in a patient-focused environment, using knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines.
- Ideally, experience in influencing prescribing within a secondary care environment.
- Mental health experience is desirable but not essential, as relevant training will be fully supported.
- A strong alignment with NHS Lothian’s values and a willingness to contribute to our dynamic team.
