Senior Associate Solicitor - Commercial Property

TSR Legal have recently been instructed on behalf of a well-regarded law based in the heart of Newport who are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join the expanding team. As a senior within the team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and services to clients in matters related to commercial real estate transactions.


This role requires a strong understanding of commercial property law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload of commercial property matters effectively. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, including developers, investors, landlords, and tenants, to facilitate transactions, resolve legal issues, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage a caseload of commercial property transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, and development projects.

  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients on property-related matters, including title issues, zoning regulations, planning permissions, and environmental considerations.

  • Conduct due diligence investigations and review legal documentation, including contracts, leases, and property reports, to identify potential issues and mitigate risks.

  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases, contracts of sale, and other legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Liaise with clients, lenders, surveyors, and other stakeholders involved in property transactions, maintaining clear and regular communication throughout the process.

  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings related to commercial property matters.

  • Keep abreast of developments in property law and real estate market trends, staying informed about changes in legislation, case law, and industry practices.

  • Manage client relationships, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the firm, including partners, associates, and support staff, to leverage resources and expertise in handling complex property transactions.


Qualifications and Skills:



  • Qualified solicitor with at least 6+ PQE in commercial property

  • Strong understanding of property law which could include landlord and tenant law, and real estate finance.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

  • Experience managing a diverse caseload of commercial property transactions, from inception to completion.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation and research.

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of clients' business objectives and commercial considerations.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on legal developments in property law and real estate practice.
