Bankperson/SlingerEdinburgh £20 per hour18 month + contract
Setsquare are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Banksperson/Slinger/Slinger to work on an upcoming project in Edinburgh city centre.
In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe lifting, movement, and placement of heavy materials on-site. You'll work closely with crane operators, lift supervisors, and the ground crew to facilitate precise and secure load handling on a variety of lifting operations on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lift Coordination: Effectively communicate with crane operators to guide the safe movement and positioning of loads.
- Site Safety: Adhere strictly to site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct regular equipment inspections and ensure all slinging/lifting gear is maintained to a high standard.
- Load Management: Assess load weight, balance, and rigging to optimise safety and efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside site supervisors and other crew members to support daily operations and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CPCS Slinger/Signaller Certification (mandatory)
- Prior experience of lifting operations on construction sites (essential)
- Sound knowledge of load-handling procedures and health & safety regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Additional certifications, such as Banksman, Confined Space, or First Aid, are advantageous
