The Role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Test Manager for an immediate 3 to 4-week engagement to lead the QA discovery and strategy phase for a critical systems and data migration project within our Testing practice for a leading Edinburgh-based financial services institution.

As a senior contractor, you will hit the ground running to assess the current landscape, define the migration testing strategy, and establish the framework for execution. This is a fast-paced role requiring a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on pragmatism.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Define and document a comprehensive end-to-end testing strategy for a complex data and systems migration.
• Stakeholder Management: Align with business analysts, data engineers, and senior stakeholders to map out testing requirements and scope.
• Risk & Defect Management: Identify potential QA bottlenecks, data integrity risks, and compliance hurdles unique to financial migrations.
• Resource Planning: Outline the resource, tooling, and environment requirements needed for the subsequent execution phase.

What We Are Looking For

• Financial Services Expertise: Proven track record delivering QA frameworks within banking, wealth management, or insurance environments.
• Migration Specialist: Extensive experience managing large-scale data migrations, legacy-to-cloud shifts, or core platform upgrades
• Local Presence: Ability to commute to our Edinburgh office 2 days per week for collaborative stakeholder workshops.
