BESS Experience required

Commercial lead supporting the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and associated high-voltage infrastructure project in Scotland. Responsible for the full commercial management of civil, electrical and infrastructure work packages throughout the construction phase, ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance and risk managemen

Key Responsibilities

• Managed subcontract procurement from tender evaluation through to award and contract execution
• Administered NEC contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and change control procedures
• Prepared, assessed and agreed interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts
• Monitored project costs, forecasts and cash flow, providing regular commercial reporting to senior management
• Reviewed and negotiated subcontractor variations, claims and commercial settlement
• Identified and mitigated commercial risks while maintaining project budget and programme objectives
• Supported the delivery of battery storage, HV electrical infrastructure, substation works and associated civil engineering packages
• Liaised with project managers, engineers and client representatives to ensure contractual obligations were met
• Managed cost capture and forecasting to improve commercial performance and project profitability
• Assisted with dispute avoidance, contract interpretation and commercial strategy throughout the project lifecycle.
