Following a sustained period of growth and continued investment across the organisation, our client is looking to strengthen its finance team with the addition of an Accounts Assistant. The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will take ownership of the Accounts Payable function while also supporting the wider finance team with month-end activities and balance sheet reconciliations. This role would suit an individual looking to develop their finance career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
- Processing company credit card transactions and staff expenses
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end close activities, including:
- Journal postings
- Prepayments and accruals
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties as required
Candidate Profile
We are keen to speak with individuals who have previous experience working within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Payable position and who are looking to further develop their accounting knowledge.
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or Accounts Payable role
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes
- Exposure to month-end accounting activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Experience using finance systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems
- A proactive and organised approach to work
