Our client is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join a busy People team for 6 months, providing expert advice and support across a wide range of employee relations matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing complex case management with policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
You will manage a varied portfolio of employee relations cases, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with employment legislation and organisational policies. Alongside casework, you will play a key role in reviewing, developing, and implementing HR policies and procedures that support organisational goals and best practice.
Working closely with managers, stakeholders, and employee representatives, you will provide pragmatic advice and contribute to a positive employee experience through effective people management practices.
Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a range of employee relations cases, including attendance, disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on complex people issues.
- Conduct research and benchmarking against employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Review existing HR policies and draft updates and new policies where required.
- Develop supporting documentation, guidance materials, templates, and implementation resources.
- Work collaboratively with employee representatives and key stakeholders to gather feedback and support successful policy implementation.
- Analyse HR data and trends to support decision-making and case resolution.
- Identify opportunities to improve policies, procedures, and ways of working.
- Proven experience within an employee relations or HR advisory environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practice.
- Experience managing complex ER casework, including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, and performance matters.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- The ability to analyse information and make balanced, evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high-quality HR service.
- Chartered CIPD membership, working towards CIPD accreditation, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
