About the opportunityVia is partnering with a growing AI and fintech business to recruit a PR & Communications Executive for its Edinburgh team.
This is a broad, hands-on communications role focused on building the company's profile across the UK financial services and technology markets.
You'll work closely with the Head of PR & Communications, developing relationships with journalists, pitching stories and commentary, supporting PR campaigns and finding opportunities to put the business and its senior leaders into relevant industry conversations.
The role goes beyond traditional PR. You'll also gain exposure to thought leadership, content, customer stories, executive communications, events, awards and wider marketing campaigns.
You don't need to be an AI or fintech expert from day one. Strong B2B PR or communications experience, excellent writing skills and confidence working directly with journalists are the most important foundations.
What you'll be doing- Build and maintain relationships with journalists across business, technology, fintech and financial services media
- Proactively pitch stories, commentary, interviews and contributed articles
- Identify relevant news and media opportunities for the business
- Support PR campaigns around product launches, research, company news and customer successes
- Help manage the day-to-day press office
- Respond to journalist enquiries and coordinate interviews
- Prepare briefing documents and talking points for senior spokespeople
- Write and edit press releases, pitches, commentary and other external communications
- Maintain PR, communications and editorial calendars
- Develop customer stories, case studies and testimonials
- Work with Sales and Customer Success to identify strong customer stories
- Support senior leaders with LinkedIn content and executive communications
- Contribute to webinars, research reports, whitepapers and thought-leadership content
- Identify relevant conferences, panels, podcasts and webinar opportunities
- Coordinate industry award entries and speaking opportunities
- Support relationships with industry analysts and research organisations
- Help deliver conferences, roundtables, webinars and customer events
- Support internal communications around company news, customer wins and product developments
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product and Customer Success teams
You'll ideally have:
- Experience within PR, communications, media relations or a closely related role
- Previous experience working in a B2B environment
- Hands-on experience dealing directly with journalists
- Experience proactively pitching stories and securing media opportunities
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience producing press releases, pitches, commentary or similar communications
- Good news judgement and an understanding of what makes a strong media story
- Confidence communicating with journalists and senior stakeholders
- The ability to turn complex or technical information into engaging, accessible content
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously
- An understanding of how PR supports brand awareness and wider commercial objectives
- An interest in technology, AI, fintech or financial services
- Confidence working within a fast-moving, growing business
- Ability to work from the Edinburgh office 2 days per week
Candidates from either PR agencies or in-house B2B communications teams are encouraged to apply.
Previous experience specifically within financial services or fintech isn't essential. Candidates with relevant B2B PR experience across technology, SaaS, professional services, corporate communications or other complex industries could also be a good fit.

- Estimated £35,000–£45,000 salary depending on experience
