About the Company:

A well-established food manufacturer with a long-standing presence in the UK market is seeking a Hygiene Manager. The firm operates multiple production sites nationally and employs a large workforce, the business produces a range of well-known, much-loved food brands found in households across the country. They are looking to appoint an experienced Hygiene Manager to lead site-wide hygiene standards at their Edinburgh facility.

The Role:

This Hygiene Manager role is a leadership position responsible for overseeing site-wide hygiene standards and compliance, ensuring the facility consistently meets the highest cleanliness and food safety requirements.

You will play a key part in protecting the hygienic integrity of the plant, enabling the production of high-quality products every day. Through strong leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement, you'll help create a culture where hygiene excellence underpins everything the business does.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain cleaning schedules and supporting documentation
  • Lead the Hygiene Team, providing guidance and support
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Plant Planning teams
  • Oversee pest control activities across the site
  • Champion a strong hygiene culture throughout the business
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and certification standards
  • Manage employee hygiene training programmes
  • Manage the hygiene budget
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives


What We're Looking For:

  • Prior experience in a comparable hygiene management role, ideally within FMCG IOSH qualification (or currently working towards one)
  • A proven track record of maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Level 3 Food Safety qualification desirable
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the business
