Senior Civil Project Engineer

• Location: Newcastle (hybrid / working from home, with occasional site visits)
• Rate: £500 per day, Outside IR35 TBC
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 6 month rolling contract

Turner Lovell are recruiting an experienced Senior Civil Project Engineer with a strong civil engineering and design development background to support the delivery of a major transmission infrastructure programme in the UK for a leading global energy organisation.

This is a design-focused position, working closely with designers, the wider project team and client representatives to support the development, review and progression of civil engineering designs through the project lifecycle.

Duties

• Support the development and review of civil designs, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinate design reviews, technical queries and interfaces across engineering disciplines and project teams.
• Monitor design progress and ensure deliverables meet project requirements, specifications and programme deadlines.
• Support the transition from design to construction, resolving technical queries and site issues.
• Liaise with clients, designers and contractors, supporting the Project Manager with progress reporting and documentation.
• Ensure civil engineering activities comply with quality, health and safety, environmental and project requirements.

Requirements

• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
• Strong civil engineering experience, ideally across design development, design review or engineering coordination.
• Experience within energy, transmission, utilities or major infrastructure is beneficial.
• Good knowledge of civil works including foundations, earthworks, drainage, roads and structures, with experience taking designs through to construction.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with experience working with consultants, clients and wider project teams; willingness to attend site as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Project Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer with a design development background to take on a key role within a major transmission infrastructure programme, working closely with designers, clients and the wider project team to progress civil engineering works from design development through towards construction.
