QA Automation Engineer – Java, Selenium & API Testing

Location: Edinburgh – Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office
Salary: Up to £48,000 + 10% employer pension contribution depending on experience

We are looking for candidates who meet the following essential requirements:

- Location: Based in Edinburgh or within a reasonable commuting distance, with the ability to attend the Edinburgh office twice a week.

- UK Experience: Relevant professional work experience in the UK.
- Automation: Strong hands-on experience writing automation code using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
- API Testing: Practical experience with Postman and REST APIs.
- Salary: Comfortable with a salary of up to £48,000 plus a 10% employer pension contribution depending on experience

About the Role

Join a Retail Lending and Digital team within a Tier 1 Bank working on overdraft services, with opportunities to support loans and other lending products.

You will help improve software quality through effective test automation, robust regression testing and risk-based test planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain automated tests using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
- Perform API testing using Postman and REST APIs.
- Build robust, reusable regression test suites.
- Write and maintain automation code and frameworks independently.
- Identify test scenarios and prioritise testing based on risk and business impact.
- Collaborate with developers and key stakeholders to improve software quality and release confidence.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Relevant UK professional experience.
- Strong Java and Selenium WebDriver automation skills.
- Hands-on Postman and REST API testing experience.
- Ability to develop and maintain your own automation code.
- Experience in regression, integration and end-to-end testing.
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
