WAN/LAN Implementation Engineer – London/Hybrid

We’re looking for an experienced WAN/LAN Expert (SME) to manage obsolete hardware replacements for a global technology company in London.

You’ll be upgrading/patching code, firmware, bootstrap programs, software and security patches, working across a range of network physical and virtual appliances. You’ll need extensive experience of Cisco ACI, NDO, Nexus technologies, DC LAN technologies and WAN (BGP, L2 & L3 extension networks, MPLS-VPNs, Multicasting & QOS).

Key Skills:

Experience with Cisco ACI, NDO, Arista CloudVision, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NXOS, EOS, JUNOS Devices

• Upgrading / managing code, image, firmware, bootstrap programs, software, security patches


• 
  SD Controllers deployed in on-premises, third-party data centres.


• 
  ACI fabric code upgrades (multi-pod & multi-site environments)


• Validate the fabric policies, tenant configurations, and seamless operations post-upgrade.


• Device replacements, code upgrades for Routers


• 
  OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS VPNs, QOS, Multicasting, VPWS, Layer 2/Layer 3 connectivity.


• Code upgrades and hardware replacements for


• Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches


• Validate DC LAN features; VXLAN EVPN, vPC, FEX, QOS


• 
  End-to-end testing; Traffic forwarding, policy enforcement, redundancy


• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to configuration compatibility or protocol mismatches.


• Post upgrade monitoring


• Documentation and compliance

Experience replacing obsolete hardware / virtual appliances including planning, pre-upgrade checks, backup strategies, compatibility review and validation, testing procedures, rollback plans is essential, any experience of ansible/python (For automation and troubleshooting), cloud-native networking services and tools (AWS, AZURE) would be a benefit.
