Job Description

Join us as a Product Designer within Natwest retail mobile team

  • We'll look to you to be a passionate advocate for great customer experiences, bringing your creative and strategic thinking skills
  • You'll be at the forefront of UX design solutions in our App that employ and improve our principles, standards and design patterns, centred around best practice, consistency and re-use
  • In return, you’ll have a genuine impact on our customers, and will be well positioned to gain recognition for you and your work
  • We offer a remote working arrangement with an expectation to join the team in our Edinburgh office on a Thursday for collaboration
  • As part of your application you're required to submit a portfolio showcasing samples of your product design work in mobile apps, highlighting the end-to-end product design process


What you'll do

As a Product Designer, you'll create innovative and seamless customer experiences for our mobile app. You will develop high-level wireframes and prototypes to effectively convey design concepts. Your goal will be to deliver consistent, efficient, and enjoyable experiences that enhance customer experience and engagement.

Key aspects of your role will also include:

  • Working closely with product owners, researchers and development to create new features and enhance existing ones
  • Translating customer insights into designed experiences and forming a compelling story around it
  • Working with Agile project teams and key stakeholders to develop and own the delivery of user centred solutions within project timeframes and objectives
  • Conducting and participating in moderated and unmoderated user research, drawing on insights discovered to make informed and user centred design decisions
  • Working closely with project stakeholders to help understand and define customer value
  • Actively seeking feedback from the team on designs, processes, and ideas
  • Collaborating with the Design System team to enhance our Design System in alignment with our brand


The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with an extensive portfolio, which demonstrates creative and analytical thinking and the delivery of effective UX solutions. You’ll have an eye for detail, coupled with excellent communication skills, in order to champion interface designs, and present your work in a compelling and engaging way.

We’ll also be looking for:

  • Good experience using Figma, contributing and collaborating with a design system to deliver experiences of high standards that are accessible and inclusive
  • Good all-rounded UX and UI skills including layout, typography, colour and high-fidelity prototyping skills such as Figma, Protopie
  • A good understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies
  • Experience of working with Agile teams
  • Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills
